Sometimes, I wonder about the art of writing. It’s not like slowly chiseling a noble bust out of a block of marble. It’s more like getting in tune with your past, your present and perhaps even your future.
For many writers, the words just seem to flow from a mysterious inner source and they are astounded by what they have written. But there’s something else. Sometimes, when a writer hears his works read by someone special, he suddenly begins to see new facets of his work. It’s as if his writing comes from some hidden depth and the reading tells him more about that depth.
Even though the writer is called the author, he is often merely the medium connecting something spiritual from somewhere within himself to some reader or, in special cases, some listener.
